Life's Turbulent Turmoil

Yes, I know that I have been M.I.A. as of late and for that I truly apologize. Life has riddled me with a unsurpassable amount of suspense and surprises. Well not unsurpassable, but lets face it; when it is your world falling down around you that's all you can really see. Work is Good. I have started my apprenticeship with SSVEC (the local power company I work for) and have taken my first test and passed. As my close friends know i don't test all that well and I stressed over this one a lot. I could have done better but I still have 4 more years of testing so I am really hoping that I get the hang of it. On top of that I have a strange crew to work with. Myself that is fairly new, the Foreman that is the youngest lineman on the crew, and two old almost ready to retire lineman that hate each other so much that you can feel the temperature rise when they are in the same room together. Now I must say that I truly respect all 3 of theses men but when they have to work together, well, my job gets harder. One will tell me one way to do something and the other one will walk by 2 seconds later and chew me out for doing it that way. Oh well, I try to not think about it too much when I am home but that isn't so easy either because I have to study for my tests. Well I know that is just work. Every one's jobs come with shit to shovel, the only question is, do you work with dogs or elephants?

Home life is wonderful, as long as I don't bring out side stresses home with me.

My little girl is growing so big. This past week i have cherished her kisses and hugs more than ever. Not that i did not before. I have just taken more time to enjoy the blessing that she is in my life.

Kay has had a rough couple of weeks. We found out that she was pregnant 2 weeks ago and we both got excited; then this last week Kay had doctors appointments and found that we had had a miscarriage. I don't know why. There is no reason for it, it just happened. If you ask me much more then that i don't know what I can tell you. Some times life happens and some times it doesn't. But all and all Kay is taking it well, as well as could be expected.

Well That is Me/Us I hope that all is going well in every one elses worlds.

Post Script:
I have lost some lbs. and hope to keep it up. I will tell you the number and post pictures when I get below 200.

Winds of Change

Back in the town of my up-bringing they had a saying "When the pioneers came to settle Arizona, a group stopped in Joe Town due to a bad wind storm. The leader told the people 'When the wind lets up we will move on.' And we are still there today". It is no suprize to those of us from Nothern Arizona that I have had my fair share of experience with the wind; good or bad it always blows. When I was serving my mission in Sacremento California, I remember stopping in my first area just off the side of the road taking a second to watch the sunset and thinking of home. Just at that moment a breeze came up over the river and rushed across my face and through my hair. Just for one split second time stopped, I was apart of every thing that was around me. I could see all of the times I have been at the badlands standing on the tallest hill. The times I was at shevillon standing high on a cliff looking down into the cool water below. The times I was on top of the mesa over looking the badlands, the long stretch of land that reached to the twin peaks; and watching the sunset light up the sky with all of the colors that would bring respect from all living things. My thoughts go to all of the places that I feel God made to help us remember just what beauty he blessed our lives with. I respect the wind. I long for the day that I can stand in the places that have touched my heart, that bear witness to me that I am nothing and every thing all at once.

CELEBRATE THE LITTLE THINGS!!!! Tonight I celebrate the winds of change that brought you, my friend, into my life.

First Date

So today I would like to take just a moment of your time to recant one of my favorite stories. This is the story of a first date, more specifically my first day with Kay. I was introduced to Kay by my fabulous cousin Crystal Price; it was nothing more then a short hello and some small talk. A few weeks later I saw her at a stake dance. Now I have to confess I did not hear angels singing, there was no voice from heaven declaring that this beautiful young woman would be my eternal companion; however I was intrigued. Now I am going to tell you part of the story that I don’t usually tell and now that I think of it I am not sure I have even told Kay this...hum. Anyways, it was homecoming and I received a phone call that I was in the running for royalty. Well shit; there goes my plans to "search for the poor wounded and dying bunny rabbits" with Big John. So I had to think fast. No girl in her right mind would go with me to the dance, well not at least after that last rumor about me getting high and going skinny dipping at Cholla. I was another victim of the rumor mill. So after taking some swigs of courage mixed with grandpa’s apple juice. I came to the only conclusion that was plausible. She had to be cute, unavailable, and NOT from Joe Town. When I finally thought of the best candidate for the job; this is how the call went:

The phone rings.
Me:“Hi, is Kay there?”
A kind older man answers the phone. “No you have the wrong #.”
Me:“Oh I am sorry. Maybe you could help me? I am looking for Kay Simper. I am looking in the phone book and I am not sure of her fathers name.”
The kind voice reply’s “Oh that is my wild grand daughter. I get calls all the time from people looking for her. The # is 928-***-****and her fathers name is Dan.”
Me:“Well thank you for all of your help.”

Well since she didn’t give me her phone number and I had 3 choices in the phone book I just went with the first one. So let’s try this again:
The phone rings.
Me: “Hi, is Kay there?”
A man answered the phone and in a deep and very intimidating voice. “Just a moment, I will see if she is available.”
I know that tone of voice; I have heard it from many other fathers. Right now he is calling the authorities, doing a background check and most likely loading his gun to keep at the front door waiting for me. This man sounds mad and he doesn’t even know that I am asking his little girl on a date. What will he do when I show up at the door to pick Kay up?
An upbeat and sweet voice comes on the reciver. “Hi, this is Kay.”
Me: “Oh, uh, Hi. This is Bo... Bo Lee, I am Crystal Ray's cousin…” Oh great, she doesn’t remember me!
Kay: “Oh yeah, I remember you.”
Me: “I’m sure you’re wondering why I am calling you, well you see the thing is, I was wondering if you had plans for next Friday?”
Long Pause.
Kay: “Not that I can think of, why?”
Don’t screw this up man! Just ask the question!!!
Me: “Well I was wondering if you would like to go to Joe Towns Homecoming Dance with me?”
The pause that followed was comparable to the long and agonizing silence of waiting for the jury before one is convicted or found innocent of some great crime.
Kay: “Well I... I don’t really have any thing to wear.”
Me: “That is ok I am just wearing what I wear to church. I am sure that you have a dress of some sort.”
Kay: “I’m not sure...”
Come on man, say something to convince her.
Me: “Oh come on it, will be fun.” Way to think on my feet…
Kay: “Well, ok.” Success!
Me: “Ok? Great!! I will pick you up at 9:30, sorry it can’t be sooner I have a football game.”
Kay: “It is ok.” Kay thinking, Okay is he going to invite me to his game…
Me: “Then I will see you then.”

This is great. The days that followed were no different then that of any other High School days. Now this is where the story takes an odd turn. Some how my cousin Shawna Frost was invited to go as well. I say, Kay was worried about me and invited her. Both Kay and Shawna have different stories.... But this is my story so we’ll call this “the truth”. So Friday night comes and I pick up Kay first then we head over to Shawna's. We show up at the dance and if I was thought to be some kind of pervert, Mexican, womanizer before hand; well folks lets just add Pimp to my list of offenses against humanity. Every one asked who my dates were and why did I bring two? My only response was... just a smile and a shrug. I never said well I asked one and she brought the other as a witness if the police needed to do a line up. Oh and I left out the part that Shawna was my cousin. Now the night was over and I was taking the girls home and I though that Kay was acting a bit uncomfortable all night so I dropped her off first so that she didn’t have to be alone with me. Well come to find out Kay wanted some alone time to get to know me. Really? What was I supposed to think? Oh well. Mark it up to a lesson learned.

The Ominous Truth!!!!

I have a confession; I don’t know what I will say on this blog but what I do know is it will not be bland. If you are looking for a family journal Look on Kay’s blog. What I hope to do here is to release stress and tell tall tails. I don’t make a lot of time to play on the computer however I hope to leave some thing at least once a week. Please do me the courtesy of taking the thing I say with a grain of salt. If you find what I say as rude, offensive, or just weird just laugh it off. Thanks.
